All my friends are retired...Oh Seung-hwan, who is left alone, will be included in the 'PO entry' after overcoming the shock of two out and six runs

Choo Shin-soo (42) of SSG Landers announced his retirement plan in advance as this year is the last season as he started the 2024 season. SSG ended its season by losing the "5th place match" with KT on the 1st.

Kim Kang-min (42), who played 23 years for SK (current SSG) and moved to Hanwha Eagles in the second draft in November last year, played one season for Hanwha and announced his retirement through the club on the 2nd. 안전놀이터

Oh Seung-hwan (42) of the Samsung Lions is the only one born in 1982 in the KBO League. Oh acquired the free agent status last winter and signed a two-year contract with Samsung for a total of 2.2 billion won (approx. The contract lasts until the 2025 season.

Oh's biggest interest is whether he will play in the playoffs or not. Oh, who was excluded from the first division entry due to poor performance at the end of this season, recently took the mound in a second division game and checked his ball power.

Oh Seung-hwan also took the mound as a relief pitcher in a game against Lotte's second division in the Futures League held at Sangdong Stadium on the 2nd. Taking the mound in the seventh inning with a 5-4 lead, he grounded out Kim Min-seok to the first baseman, out Kim Dong-gyu to the first baseman, and struck out his Junghoon Lee swinging. He threw 16 pitches in one inning without allowing a hit.

Oh took a hard hit against Kiwoom in Daegu on Sept. 22. Taking the mound in the top of the ninth inning with a 9-2 lead, Oh seemed to close the game with two outs.

However, after being hit by Kim Tae-jin, Lee Ju-hyung got on base due to a mistake at the first base. He allowed Song to walk, and loaded the bases with two outs. Kim Hye-sung had a timely two-run hit, Song had an infield single, and Kim Geon-hee had a three-run homer to make it 9-8. In the end, he was replaced without finishing the inning.

The Samsung Lions won the game 9-8, securing the second place in the regular season and going straight to the playoffs, but Oh couldn't smile. Oh, who had four hits (one homer), one walk, one strikeout, and six runs (0 earned runs) in ⅔ innings, was removed from the first team entry the next day. Oh, who was sluggish in the second half of the season, had an ERA of 7.00 in his last 10 games.

Oh finished the season with three wins, nine losses, 27 saves, two holds, eight blon saves and an ERA of 4.91. He was not bad in the first half with one win, five losses and 24 saves with an ERA of 3.79, but he had an earned run average of 7.41 with two wins and four losses and three saves in 21 games in the second half. His batting average was 373.

After Oh Seung-hwan's cancellation of the first division, coach Park Jin-man said Oh Seung-hwan's ball power has fallen a lot, making it difficult to be included in the postseason entry. Since then, Oh has been recovering his ball power by spending about 10 days in the second division. On the 2nd, he conducted a real game inspection in the Lotte 2nd division match. Oh Seung-hwan has a lot of experience in big games. It's not as straightforward as it used to be, but if he gets a certain amount of ball power, he can take one inning as the middle.

Samsung's second tier team will play against KT's second tier team at Gyeongsan Stadium on May 4 and May 5, and the Futures League season will end. Oh Seung-hwan, who played in the second tier team game on May 2, was excluded from the entry list on May 3. The second tier team entry can be removed from registration every day. He can take the mound once more every four to five days. Attention is focusing on whether he will join the first tier team later.
